Low Cost Stand-Alone Data Logger for CAN Networks
Features:
- Logs up to two CAN networks (DW/SW/LSFT)
- Performs requests for GMLAN, ISO 14229 (UDS), J1939, CCP/XCP, OBD, J1979, and other protocols over CAN networks
- Logs 60+ million (2 GB), expandable to nearly 1 billion messages (32 GB)
- Includes a logger-only license of Vehicle Spy for setup, extraction, export and analysis
- VehicleScape DAQ makes setup, extraction and export quick and easy
The neoVI Logger provides a low-cost way to capture large amounts of message traffic on today’s complex networks. The neoVI Logger provides up to two channels of CAN. You can configure for either two dual-wire networks, or one dual-wire and one single-wire or LSFT network.
Makes Requests for Diagnostics with VehicleScape DAQ/Vehicle Spy
Capturing normal periodic messages is not enough! While many data loggers claim to capture messages, the neoVI Logger can be configured to make requests and record the responses for any diagnostic protocol, many with little or no configuration. By providing your DBC files, diagnostic files, and A2L files, you can simply select by name. VehicleScape does the rest:
- Normal-mode Messages – Load DBC files and select the signals for logging based on name.
- ISO 14229 (UDS) – Load your ODX/A2L/MDX/GDX and select signals, requests/responses are automatically configured. DIDs ($22), DMRs ($23 Direct Memory Reads) and Packed DIDs ($2A, $2C) are supported.
- GMLAN – Load your ODX/GMD or other diagnostic files and select signals, requests/responses are automatically configured. Static/Dynamic DPIDs are supported.
- CCP/XCP – Load your A2L files and reference your measurements by name for polling or DAQing.
- Other diagnostic protocols (i.e.: OBD, J1979, EURO5/6) – Use your own VS3 file or our OBD examples as a database and select your PIDs by name, or easily create your own requests/responses for use in VehicleScape.
Complex Triggering
Choose from numerous triggering options including:
- Log all data all the time.
- Start logging on an expression, stop on a different expression.
- Pre/Post trigger based on time or size.
- Multiple triggers in one configuration.
- Expandable triggering and configuration using built in scripting.
Power Management for Long-Term Monitoring
The neoVI Logger has the most flexible power management available in a CAN logger, including Instant Wake-Up – Never miss a CAN message on wake-up! Whether you want to put the logger to sleep when the vehicle is not running, or wake up on a certain message’s content, the neoVI Logger can provide maximum monitoring with minimum current draw on your vehicle:
- No Power Management – Captures everything at all times, remains awake to get hard-to-catch events (i.e.: SWCAN High Voltage Wake-Up.) Draws ~125 mA at all times.
- Sleep on Message – Goes to sleep whenever a message of your choice is not present for a period you choose (~5 mA)
- Sleep on Expression – Goes to sleep whenever an expression of your choice is true. Boolean and mathematics are allowed. (~5 mA)
- Sleep on No Traffic – Goes to sleep whenever traffic is not present. (~5 mA)
- Instant Wake-Up Option – *For Dual Wire CAN networks only. Captures ALL messages on wake-up (NO dropped messages.) Draws ~50 mA when sleeping. Available in all sleep modes.
Extract and Export to Your Favorite Format
To extract data from the logger, transfer the microSD card from the neoVI Logger to your PC and use VehicleScape DAQ again. The Extract/Export Utility provides a simple way to get the data off the card and into the format you want with one click.
Bus Log/Capture Formats
- Vehicle Spy (.CSV)
- Vector Log (.ASC)
Signal Data Formats:
- Vehicle Spy (.CSV)
- MATLAB (.MAT)
- ETAS INCA (.MDF)
Analyze Signal Data with Post Analysis View
The Post Analysis View gives you a powerful tool to examine and plot signals, with overlays, multi-Y axis, multi-X axis, legends, and more.
