Product Details
The neoNub OBD-II / J1962 adapter is a connector that converts the neoVI db25 to the OBD2 connector. This connector has many advantages over other connectors:
- Potential to eliminate a cable - Mounting the neoNub on neoVI allows the cable portion of the OBD 2 cable to be removed. This means you have one less thing to carry.
- DB25 is an "off-the-shelf" standard - You can buy these connectors at local electronics stores (ie. Radio Shack)
- The connector is fully populated - All 16 OBD signals pass through to the DB25 side. Most OBD2 solutions only populate part of the cable. For example, many won't contain both single wire CAN and Keyword 2000.
- The OBD adapter can be left connected to the vehicle eliminating ODB wear-out - The OBD connector is designed for a few number of connection cycles. This can lead to OBD wear-out on test vehicles or benches. You can leave the neoNub on the vehicle and simply disconnect and connect the DB25 portion.
The standard pin-out will meet the OBD2 requirements, the OBD requirements that add CAN, and the GMLAN requirements.
WARNING - Make sure to check your OBD2 connector for any non-standard layouts that may interfere with the signaling on the neoVI unit.
